Phyllis Rowley - Artist

Phyllis has combined her love of painting and photography in her new mixed media work.  She photographs natural and man made landscapes, people, charming historical structures and cityscapes in the U.S. and Europe. These captured images are completed in her studio becoming hand painted photographs, mixed media paintings or pastels. A select few of these original creations are then hand printed by Phyllis using the finest quality archival inks and papers and sold as limited edition prints..

Phyllis has exhibited in galleries in New York City, France, New England, and Charleston, SC. She is a graduate of Parsons School of Design and has taught Pastel and Photography workshops at art centers and colleges in the U.S. and Italy.

Phyllis works with Art Dealers, Interior Designers, Art Consultants, and Fine Art Publishers. She also enjoys doing commission work for private clients and corporations. These projects include capturing special moments in people’s lives, painting beautiful portraits, homes and gardens as well as creating imaginative semi-abstract works inspired by the beauty of the natural world. Phyllis also loves creating especially meaningful works of art for clients based on their own treasured photographs.

With her background in interior design, Phyllis enjoys creating work for clients that not only reflect their wishes and her artistic expression, but also enhance the environment in which the art is placed. Having recently moved to Charleston, Phyllis is thrilled to have the opportunity to create work from the timeless beguiling beauty of the Low Country.
